My Diary 2021 – week 4

It all starts with Sorry Sophie Scrambled – RAF_Luton on Twitter

January 22nd Friday

Woke at 8am and feel ready to get up. Then have a lie in as 9am alarm rudely wakes from dream. Reset for 10am, same, get up at 10.44am. Get into a twitter storm as reply to @RAFLuton about over-use of word “scrambled” not noticing mention of 612 shots fired. Ian May messages to say RAF Luton spoof account. Jokes ensure about eggs, scrambling etc. Most people fun, few judgmental people who state obvious or miss joke if I’d said “trying out comedy” not entertaining as coming from “journalist”. Post and first made retort “it’s a journalist”. Deal with these idiots point out how few people are listening to these idiots and are missing the fun.

January 23rd Saturday

Still getting replies on Twitter but not a single new follower. Evidently male bias. Speak to Pete, says so many COVID cases in Madrid. Talk about masks and vaccines. Pete says already hated media. Realise I did in my youth too. Afterwards, go for walk to buy food in sunshine. Water aeonium as dry. Buy containers for oats. Watch Navalny documentary.

January 24th Sunday

Sent Navalny link to Tony Gosling and John. Both closed minded and have another agenda. Hidden sexism probably. Men who don’t dare admit they are scared of women being more powerful and better leaders, depriving white men of their privilege. This is what Trump, Boris and Putin all represent. Desperate men clinging on to power. Why would we have such terrible leaders otherwise?

January 25th Monday

Not nearly finished biz plan and so start pasting bits in from A2F template and write up. I delete all rubbish bits from paper edits from Sunday evening. Embarrassed at how bad it was. Going on though. Then see email with results from university. Try to view and get stopped by Network ID login on phone. Try student portal and email. Both work fine. Contact IT service desk and speak to Zach. He says can’t’ see beyond first login. I send him screen grab, asks for one with just first part of uni email. Say if ought to have prompts as we can’t remember that many logins.

January 26th Tuesday

Carry on with business plan. Edit sections. Add bits from previous hand-in. Word count comes to 3,446. Go through references. Paste Zotero into business plan. Can’t find documents with appendices on Dell. Patsy asks to help with references, so put links into Zbib.org. Send over. Try IT service desk, email says asking to look into login. Wander if linked to student card expiry. Notice lost facemask. Find it in car after posting letter. Go to Natural Store for greens, Unwrap for Chard and coffee. Sky not working. Watch film about Australian singer on BBC iPlayer. No access to results.

January 27th Wednesday

Sent biz plan in. Holocaust Memorial Day. Continue working on business plan. Email from IT service desk says try again. I reset email which gives prompt. 10 digits and 3 of u/c number of symbol. I pick an extra digit to old password as have no 10-digit passwords. It works. Wonder why no prompts are given to remind what their terms are. Jessica calls to say coffee on pier? Meet beside specsavers. Notice Seasalt putting window display together. Lots of activity. Jessica says her her thing IS tax deductible when I said it wasn’t and doesn’t let me respond. Walk to Tesco and slightly clear air. She says she trust me, I say doesn’t sound like it.

January 28th Thursday

On Monday news is about attempts to impeach Trump. All COVID news now is about vaccine. I wonder about natural immunity, reinfection etc. Have chat on Twitter about it. Still can’t get over 2,200 followers. Glass ceiling at 1,199. Get a call from Louise re results and uni hand in. Said resubmitted already but would do Access to Finance Template and may improve it. Said [it was] like teaching algebra and asking students to find out for themselves how it worked. Louise listened patiently and said it was interesting. Had rant about accessibility and academia. Louise said good feedback. Watch film Windows of the World about Mexican man in New York City, Eichmann Show and Boy in Striped Pyjamas.

Coming up next week on Tuesday 8th October at 9am – Week 5
